FAB nail polish!
It's so refreshing to find a nail varnish that is blendable! I've never before tried to blend nail polishes, but this was surprisingly simple to use and I came out with some great results. You have to be careful not to get carried away by using too many colours all at once (even thought that is the idea!), but generally these nail lacquers are so easy to use that you can't go too wrong. The website says “expect the unexpected when you blend them, layer them, or team them up to create a masterpiece of colour on your nails”. I tried to mix a few of them to bring about a polish which perfectly matched a new blue dress I had, but it was harder than you think!! With practice though I might have Picasso-perfect nails in no time...
Very impressive
I signed up to test the new Go Pro Hero 4 and was over the moon that I was picked! The parcel arrived within 3 days and I soon got the camera out and excitedly prepared my first Go Pro adventure. The camera was pretty easy to set up once I’d wrangled it out of the packaging and (if I’d had to buy it) is £100 cheaper than the black. The GoPro Hero4 Silver is almost identical to the black, but can’t shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second, and 1080p video at 120fps like the black can. The silver's processor is a bit slower, so it can't handle those higher frame rates, but the image sensor, the optics, and everything else looks just as good. Basically, if you're shooting 1080p at 60fps, the two are indistinguishable. I am a keen mountain biker so off to my local woodland track I went. Zooming through the woods with tree branches whipping around my face and mud splashing up at me was no threat for the GoPro camera. It stayed firm and captured a hair-raising video that was almost as clear and crisp as the real thing. I was impressed with my GoPro Hero 4 and can’t wait to make more films to thrill my friends. Thanks Previ!
Not bad - prefer Apple...
This is a very well-made little tablet. The design is simple but nice, and I liked how they carved the speaker grills into the curve of the tablet so that it didn't block the sound when it was laid down. Clever stuff. Ergonomically, the Kindle Fire HD is good, if not excellent. Its edges are bevelled to avoid feeling too severe in the hand, but the distinct seams mean it's not quite Apple-grade. There's no GPS system, Wi-Fi only, so you wouldn't be able to use it in your car for maps like other tablets... I really missed that actually so not sure I would actually buy one in the future. The battery power was pretty good- it lasted for 10 hours off charge, and up to 10 hours of constant video (if you dim the screen slightly to reserve battery power) (top tip!). For a reading device the Kindle Fire HD is good, but the backlit screen is less easy-on-the-eye than other readers I've used. The text is good and clear. Overall I found this tablet easy to use and a good all-rounder with a good price. I still prefer Apple products over Kindle products, but I guess thats just down to personal choice.
High standards
Free pizza, what’s not to love! Thank you Previ - my pizza, dough balls and chocolate fudge cake were awesome. I loved it. The staff were really friendly and helpful, even when I tried to be overly pernickety (to test them!) they remained calm and polite. The sign of professionals. Pizza Express is not my favourite eating establishment, but I was pleasantly surprised and might pop back again one day.
peri peri good!
Nando's is a high street restaurant which I had often passed but never tried. And i'm so glad I did on this rainy Wednesday! I had a lovely greeting by a friendly waiter at the door, and a table was made up for me within a minute or two of arriving. It really brightened my shopping afternoon with its spicy chicken, good side dishes and delicious drinks. My only one complaint would be the fact that the glasses weren't as clean and polished as I would like.. but that's just a small fact. I guess it's from all the use they get with those bottomless refills! - Nancy, Gloucester Quays
I love Pizza Express!
I love pizza. I love wine. I love dough balls. I love Pizza Express! It’s always been a favourite place for Friday supper among my girlfriends and I couldn’t have been happier to be chosen as a mystery diner at my local branch. Our waiter sat us down and presented us with the menu. He came back too quickly in my opinion to ask if we were ready to order, but other than that the service was excellent. We went for the dough balls to start (shared), I opted for the Leggera Padana (one of the lighter options with a salad in the middle) and my friend Clara chose her usual Pianta (no cheese). Both dough balls and pizzas were impeccable and we hungrily finished it all! The soft and fruity Chardonnay to accompany was perfect, although I would have liked it to be presented in a cooler as it was quite a warm evening. I have only one complaint and that was that there was no loo paper in the ladies! Other than that I found the Pizza Express experience to be one I’ll gladly repeat often thanks to the simple honest food, the good price point, and the calming ambiance in the restaurant.
The kids loved it
Nando’s is never going to be starred by Michelin, but for a tasty and family-friendly restaurant with good real food, I’m not going to complain. My children love the ‘bottomless’ drinks and the frozen yogurt machine (and their constant returning to the drinks station leaves me and their mother a chance to eat in relative peace!). The eldest has a penchant for the medium sauce, whilst the middle child only likes to eat the salad and the corn. My youngest loves the chips! My wife and I shared the ‘No Bones About It’ platter which was delicious. So there’s definitely something for everyone. They all had a go at the colouring sheet, but it didn’t hold their interest as much as the drinks station. Sorry to all the other Nando’s diners, but huge thanks to Previ for a great family night out!
Great food as always from Nandos!
My family and I love love love Nando's. I'm not sure if it is the atmosphere, the cheerful décor, or the music – but something always makes me feel as if I am in a foreign place and on holiday! My favourites are all the salads and of course the delicious mango juice. Other members of my family swear by the chicken hot wings. I think Nando's has a simple formula which works, and that is why people go back time and time again. No frills, no fuss, just good food, lovely chicken, and a great family occasion that doesn't break the bank. Winner!?
Such a good little product
The Kindle Fire HD was quite simple to use. So simple in fact that it seemed a bit like a “My First Tablet”. I'm sure that my 5 year old could have learned how to perform every single function on the device within half an hour. In fact he did, and now I'm letting him have it to watch his YouTube cartoons on it. It saves him using my iPad all the time! Thanks Previ.
A truly wonderful holiday
Not knowing what to expect from our holiday in Malaga, we tentatively stepped off the plane and got our transfer to the hotel which was right in the centre of the old town. We were delighted to find that our hotel was clean and quiet. Unfortunately we didn’t have much of a view, but that didn’t matter as we weren’t planning on spending much time in our room anyway. The weather was glorious and we enjoyed stopping off in the little cafes and bars in the old town- the winding streets are like a maze and the deeper you delve the more treasures you find! We took a visit to the Picasso museum which was just wonderful. It had a rather unassuming entrance up a small street, but once inside the art works were truly amazing and it was so special to see Pablo Picasso’s masterpieces in this, his birth town. We loved the impressive number of monuments and and museums, and how the ‘gateway to the Costa Del Sol’ was more upmarket than we had previously envisaged. Thank you Malaga, we’ll be back…
