Absolute pleasure to use

Aug 10, 2015 by Trevor

I signed up to test the new Dyson DC50 with Previ and was so chuffed to be picked- I never get picked for anything like this! The box arrived on the Tuesday morning and the vacuum cleaner was so simple to setup- just plug in and go. I have had a variety of different vacuum cleaners in the past and always found odd niggles with each; some took up too much storage space, some lacked suction power, and some just filled up too quickly and I found myself changing the bag every few days. I know this is 'just' a vacuum cleaner, but as cleaners go this one really is the crème de la crème. I have three dogs and the Dyson flew through the carpets and laminate in my ground floor flat collecting loads of dog hair in the cylinder - which was remarkable seeing as I had only cleaned the carpets with my old vacuum the previous day. Interestingly, there was a kind of 'silt' at the bottom of the dust collector which must be the fine dust particles that my previous cleaner just wasn't picking up. I thought it might be a bit of a gimmick, but the ball which steers the vacuum cleaner was so effortless and light to handle, it was worlds away from my old heavy machine. I haven't had to empty it yet, but I did try the emptying mechanism and it seemed very simple and hygienic to use as there is no need to touch any part of the cylinder. Overall this vacuum was an absolute pleasure to use, and I’m over the moon that it is mine to keep 🙂

Perfect for flicks

Aug 07, 2015 by Margaret

I was chosen to sample ‘Magic Ink’, which is a smooth-gliding pen eye liner perfect for flicks and dark lined eyes. I was surprised at how easily it went on and how smooth the black was. It was a beaut of an eye liner and I really enjoyed the ease of it when compared to my usual blunt pencil! The only one concern is that it isn’t greatly waterproof and after a day’s work it did smudge and ‘panda’ my eyes which was annoying. However, for perfect flicks and neat lines, Magic Ink is where it’s at.

A useful addition

Aug 07, 2015 by Terri

Dandelion promises to perk-up your complexion. While it's certainly no substitute for ten hours sleep, it does brighten your skin. The sheer light pink powder works well as a subtle blush or an all-over highlighter. When layered over bronzer it adds a soft pink flush to the apples of your cheeks - which creates a more natural look. It also brightens eyes when used as shadow. One complaint: The included brush makes application streaky. A true blush brush works better and once I used my usual blush brush I was much happier with the result. I don’t know if I would replace my bronzer with it, as I prefer the darker look. But Dandelion is a nice little addition to my make up bag. Thank you.

Everything under one roof!

Aug 07, 2015 by Anita

Asda is where I regularly shop so I am well used to the layout of aisles and where all the items are. The shop is big and sells everything. I really like the cafe and often treat my children to lunch there if they behave whilst shopping. They like sausage and chips. I always buy my clothes in Asda as they do large sizes and I love the range. The clothes always fit well and I particularly like the underwear and pyjamas. I like shopping somewhere like Asda because I can get everything under one roof. It’s really great and I was so chuffed to get a £50 voucher to sample the shop. I got most of my weekly shopping and a few extras too. Thanks for the opportunity to review, I was delighted.

An easy and pleasant experience

I usually shop in the local independent shops in our village, but I wasn’t going to turn down a £50 Asda voucher so off I went. Our local Asda is about 5 miles from home - I found the parking spacious and well laid out, and the trolley parks were all neatly arranged. I liked the summer shop in the entrance and bought some sun loungers- they were an excellent price and seem like good quality (yet to be fully tested on the beach!). The aisles were all laid out in a succinct order and even though I hadn’t been to this store before I was able to find my way around and find what I needed with ease. Asda’s version of the ‘Finest’ range is called ‘Extra Special’ and I found it to be just that. There was a nice selection of good quality foodstuffs at a great price. I bought some cold meat from the deli counter, some strong cheddar and some quiche for my beach picnic, and found the staff to be very attentive. Being summer the queues at the tills were pretty long, but I was glad to see that they opened more tills and put more staff on to counteract any aggravated shoppers! All in all my Asda experience was positive and I would perhaps pop back in again for items I couldn’t find in the independent shops near my house.

A lovely trip to a lovely part of Spain

Aug 07, 2015 by Lizzie

The city centre beach (The Playa de La Malagueta) looked brown and kind of dirty pn approach, but was actually clean on closer inspection and rather pleasant. Being July it was understandably pretty busy, but the beach-front bars served up some good grilled sardines for lunch and a few cold beers so we had a lovely time. The sea was clean and there were even some children fishing at the water’s edge which was cute. I don’t think they caught anything though! We got a sun bed each for 4euros which was a good price, and Tom even got a massage from one of the women who walk up and down offering their services. He said it was nice and relaxing. Our hotel was simple but pleasant, the floors and walls had traditional Spanish tiling throughout, ceramic washbasins in the bathrooms and beamed ceilings. The air conditioning wasn’t amazing to be honest, but when we complained the fans provided instead worked well. The hotel restaurant was simple but reasonable, and we met a few other couples our age so we had a nice evening with them and are going to keep in touch when we get home. We had a lovely trip and would love to spend longer in this lovely part of Spain.

The perfect burger

Aug 07, 2015 by Stu

If you haven’t been to a Nando’s before, let me explain. On ordering at the counter you have to decide how hot you would like your food; extra hot, hot, medium, lemon & herb, mango & lime or plain. I am a ‘extra hot’ man, every time. I was also asked if I wanted cheese on my chicken burger which I wasn’t expecting, but I certainly wasn’t going to turn down extra cheese! I then opted for the tried and tested combination of spicy rice and peri chips for the two sides with my chicken burger and it wasn’t long before they arrived. The chicken burger had been cooked on the grill perfectly with a slight charring to it in places. The extra hot sauce glazed the succulent chicken breast nicely and I liked the look of the cheese. I wasn’t disappointed- the chicken burger delivered on every level. Succulent well-cooked meat with a tasty sauce and a smattering of salad… because no-one wants too much salad on a burger right? Great restaurant, great food, great service. Thanks Nando’s.

Fantastic first experience

Aug 07, 2015 by Frankie

I just experienced by first Nando’s and it was spectacular. The busy location didn’t come up short in food quality, neither did it affect the swift service. We had to wait for approximately 15 minutes for a table, but that shows the popularity of the place so we didn’t score it negatively on that count. The staff were very prompt to clear the first table that became available and sat us down quickly. I went for the hummus and chili pepper dip to start - both were super tasty and left me wanting more! I shared a medium sauce whole chicken with the wife with four side dishes. The succulent meat was tender and tasty as hoped. Lip-smacking! I really loved the spicy rice and might try to recreate it myself at home- I can see it being a popular accompaniment to family favourite meals. The restaurant had run out of wings unfortunately, but the waiter apologised profusely and offered a free starter instead as compensation. A great experience.

A lovely family meal

Aug 07, 2015 by Sean

All branches of Nando’s serve the same themed menu; chicken (marinated for 24 hours and grilled to order) with the addition of your choice of chilli heat. There are lots of side order options such as per-peri-seasoned chips, grilled sweetcorn or spicy rice. You order at the counter and the staff bring you your meal when its cooked, in the meantime you help yourself to a ‘bottomless glass’ of fizzy drink and wait. We didn’t have to wait long. Our waiter was cheery and efficient - all one can ask for in a good waiter - and when my half chicken platter arrived it looked delicious. I opted for the ‘hot’ sauce and it nearly blew my wig off! Delicious, but not for the faint-hearted. I usually go for the ‘medium’ so perhaps I should’ve stuck with what I know. The restaurant was very busy and had a lively atmosphere, we had a brilliant family occasion and will be back.
