Great imagery!

Aug 07, 2015 by Nicolau

The iPhone 6 is a well-designed, solid update to the iPhone 5s with key improvements in several very important areas including display size, battery performance, LTE support and imaging. The iPhone 6 has an entirely new design language as well as Apple’s usual array of performance improvements from the camera to the processor to the battery and more. The protruding camera on the back was a little bit of a sticky issue for me - I hated placing it down on a tabletop the ‘wrong’ way and seeing it get scratched. For this reason I would say I prefer a flat camera if I had the choice. The improved photo quality was worth it though! All in all a great little phone which performs beautifully.

Not quite what I had hoped for

I have been a loyal Apple user for the past ten years so was very excited to get to trial the iPhone 6.
The screen is much bigger than the iPhone 5 (which is what I had previously) – it was a bit of a pain at first as it didn't sit as comfortably in my trouser pocket, but the viewing and quality of the images was fab and videos looked so much better on a bigger screen. I didn't really notice a huge leap in functionality compared to the iPhone 5 if i'm honest. Yes the larger screen was good, but the battery life wasn't that much greater (which i'd been hoping for), and I didn't feel there were too many additional features which was slightly disappointing.

Great product from Dyson.

Aug 06, 2015 by Harold

I was so excited to be trialling the latest upright cleaner from the iconic vacuum brand Dyson. The Dyson DC50 has amazing cleaning abilities thanks to its two-tier radial cyclone suction technology, and it certainly made light work of my messy carpets. With three dogs I need to vacuum daily (sometimes more) and the Dyson made it a breeze. I would say that for someone not used to a Dyson, the cleaner's ball action was quite tricky to get used to and I'm not sure I liked the ball steering technique as much as my usual vacuum. This vacuum would have cost near on £350 should I had to have bought it myself, and i'm not sure I would part with that amount of money for a vacuum. However with all that said, I enjoyed trialing this machine and hope to be picked for future Previ reviews in the near future. Thank you!

Great food.

I have been signed up to Pizza Express' mailing list for a while now, and they seem to always be offering special deals! I haven't yet tried them, but the chance to review my local Pizza Express for free was an opportunity not to be sniffed at, so off I went. Slightly unusual for a 'chain restaurant', is the fact that you can see the chefs cooking your pizza in the open kitchen. I liked this. It showed that there is nothing to be hidden and the food is prepared fresh at the time of ordering which is fabulous. I liked my pizza, but found that it was slightly lacking in cheese. That's just personal preference I guess though, so each to their own. It was scrumptious and had a nice amount of ham and mushroom so that more than adequately compensated. All in all a really good experience, thank you.

Winner!

My family and I love love love Nando's. I'm not sure if it is the atmosphere, the cheerful décor, or the music – but something always makes me feel as if I am in a foreign place and on holiday! My favourites are all the salads and of course the delicious mango juice. Other members of my family swear by the chicken hot wings. I think Nando's has a simple formula which works, and that is why people go back time and time again. No frills, no fuss, just good food, lovely chicken, and a great family occasion that doesn't break the bank. Winner!? - Bob and Pam, North Hants

My new secret weapon

I applied to Previ and was lucky enough to be chosen to sample the iconic Benefit product High Beam. The angelic pink highlighter gives a dewy glow to tired skin, making you look younger, tighter and brighter. That was the ‘sell’ anyway, so did it live up to its promise?! It most certainly did! I applied the High Beam over the top of my foundation on my cheekbones and under my eyebrow arch in a ‘C’ shape. I instantly looked fresher and more awake, with a slight sparkle. When I went to visit my mum she commented that I must have had a good night’s sleep! A little goes a long way and this little pot of miracle will last me ages. Thanks for the opportunity to try this wonder product Previ!

Good food!

Nando's is a high street restaurant which I had often passed but never tried. And i'm so glad I did on this rainy Wednesday! I had a lovely greeting by a friendly waiter at the door, and a table was made up for me within a minute or two of arriving. It really brightened my shopping afternoon with its spicy chicken, good side dishes and delicious drinks. My only one complaint would be the fact that the glasses weren't as clean and polished as I would like.. but that's just a small fact. I guess it's from all the use they get with those bottomless refills!

I have been to turned to the Apple ways!

Jul 19, 2015 by Lawrence

I must be one of the only people in the UK not to have owned an Apple product before, but curiosity finally got the better of me so I applied to be a ‘secret shopper’ to test an iPhone. As expected the design is crisp, the screen display is sharp, and the functionality (which i’m still getting used to!) is fairly succinct. I was impressed with the ease of the App store and was pleased to find that the pre-emptive text function with built-in spell-checker was a god send. If I could change one thing, it would be that my battery didn’t last as long as it did on my old phone- not even close! But I guess that because I’m playing with it a lot more then that is bound to happen. Overall a lovely phone - I might just be an Apple convert!

Apple, you’ve done it again

Jul 17, 2015 by Gregor

Striking the perfect balance between screen and physical size with a slick OS and a fast processor, the iPhone 6 really wowed me when I tested it. Nifty little features such as double-tapping the screen to minimise the display to bring it within your thumb’s reach are thoughtfully implemented and appreciated by the user. The 8 megapixel rear (primary) camera is excellent for taking high quality photos, whilst the front camera (which is only 1.2 megapixel) is good for quick snaps and selfies. The design of this model is seamless as you’d expect from Apple; the glass and aluminium finish is strides ahead of the closest competitor.

Thanks for the opportunity

In recent years the city has invested in its culture and heritage and with extensive restoration and a new port development. I spend lots of time travelling for business and so was pleasantly surprised that this town was fairly modern in its outlook and not filled with the usual ‘seaside tat’ I had expected from previously visiting other Spanish coastal towns. The bistros were inexpensive and served a nice selection of authentic tapas; I spent a few pleasant afternoons sitting with my laptop and a strong black coffee just soaking up the ambiance and tasting different dishes whilst replying to emails. Glorious. In some areas the nightlife erred on the edge of raucous, but one could find classier establishments down in the old town and on the waterfront. I wouldn’t say I would hurry back, but I did enjoy my time in Malaga so thank you for the opportunity.
